Patroller II PC

HWM’s world leading Patroller II system enables data transmitted by Permalog+ leak noise loggers to be collected wirelessly in a moving patrol vehicle. The dedicated radio receiver is equipped with a rechargeable battery, leak alarm and LED display for battery life and communication status.

The Patroller II can be set up and operated using a PC or laptop running dedicated software. This removes the requirement of having to program and retrieve data using a PDA device before uploading it to a separate PC for analysis. Naturally, the PDA option is still available if required, but the new software can now perform both tasks, enabling the complete operation to be performed with a single PC/laptop. This enables data to be entered on a keyboard rather than a stylus, which is quicker and easier.

Permalog enables water suppliers to quickly and efficiently locate leaks in the water network. Loggers are deployed in areas of the distribution system to provide continuous monitoring of leakage. Easily installed on pipe fittings, they are retained in place by a strong magnet and are battery-powered for up to 10 years.

With over 200,000 loggers deployed worldwide, the effectiveness of Permalog technology has been proven again and again in some of the harshest conditions on earth.

Permalog GPS Mapping

The Permalog Patroller Leak Detection system now incorporates the latest Microsoft MapPoint technology to enable the location of each Permalog unit to be recorded with GPS accuracy on detailed mapping software. Deployment of the loggers is now simpler, quicker and error free.  There is no longer any need for operators to manually mark logger locations on paper maps since the process of recording locations can now take place automatically.

A database shows the precise locations of each Permalog unit.  Each is indicated by a flag - green for no-leak and red for leak. The flag can be clicked on to display all previous history (previous patrols). The serial number, level and spread are displayed next to the logger.

PermaLOG Software

HWM’s Permalog system enables water suppliers to quickly and efficiently locate leaks in the water network. Our PermaLOG software interprets data from each logger and presents a detailed visual overview of their location and status using the Google online mapping tool.

This enables the clear identification of potential leak sites, enabling huge savings can be made as leakage teams can now be deployed to targeted areas in order to reduce leak run time quickly and efficiently.

Permalog+

Permalog enables water suppliers to quickly and efficiently locate leaks in the water network. Loggers are deployed in areas of the distribution system to provide continuous monitoring of leakage. Easily installed on pipe fittings, they are retained in place by a strong magnet and are powered by low cost replaceable batteries. As soon as a potential leak is detected, the Permalog unit enters an alarm state and transmits a radio signal to indicate a "LEAK" condition.

The effectiveness of Permalog technology has been proven again and again in some of the harshest conditions on earth. Loggers are immersion-tested to IP68 and will continue to operate even in flooded chambers. Water suppliers can monitor 100% of their distribution system confidently and effectively, enabling leakage to be reduced quickly, and easily maintained at a low level.

PermaNet (Radio)

PermaNet is a permanent, fixed network in which telemetry data from Permalog+ loggers can be sent wirelessly at regular intervals to a remote receiver – such as an office desktop PC. Leakage data can now be delivered automatically every day via the GlobalNet server to any monitoring station connected to the internet. A powerful system can be created to supply up-to-date effective leak location information for the cost effective management of areas with high levels of leakage or access/security issues.

Permalog leakage data is automatically collected by above ground mounted radio boosters, which then re-transmit to the control data hub. The Wi5 data hub (see separate brochure) outputs via GPRS, WIFI or USB so that the information is transmitted to a viewing platform. Licensed radio technology is used, thereby removing the requirement to have SIM cards and communications costs at each logger.

PermaNet LX

Advanced Leak Detection & Network Monitoring System

PermaNet LX combines the proven Palmer Permalog+ leak noise logger and our versatile Radcom LX telemetry logger to create a fixed network system that monitors leakage whilst simultaneously logging pressure, flow and other parameters through the same system.

PermaNet LX is ideal for monitoring a wide range of parameters including flow, pressure and temperature to assess demand, leakage and conformance. Combining noise and flow data enables the operator to accurately determine the size of a leak by matching daily leak alerts with the corresponding zonal flow data.  Larger leaks can then be prioritised to ensure that the maximum possible water savings are made.

PermaNet LX delivers leak alerts to a host modem or internet enabled device. Leakage teams can respond quickly to problem areas and bring them under control efficiently.

PermaNet SMS

PermaNet SMS communicates wirelessly with Permalog+ loggers to collect leak data and then transmits this information directly to an office computer or mobile phone via low cost SMS telemetry. This removes the requirement for expensive site visits and “drive past” data capture. Instead, leakage data can be delivered automatically to your monitoring station. The unit has a built in radio receiver and SMS transmitter. When it is not receiving or transmitting data it remains in a low power “sleep” mode to conserve battery life. Data is sent via radio from the Permalog+ loggers in range and the unit then transmits this information via SMS to the monitoring station running the PermaNet software.

PermaNet SMS can be configured to send an immediate leak alert whenever one of the loggers reports a potential leak. Additional savings are made as leakage teams can now be quickly and efficiently deployed specifically to leak alert areas. PermaNet provides the ultimate leak monitoring system using proven technology to deliver the results you want automatically and directly.
